Liz & Matt's Barn Wedding

Here is another wedding I provided rentals for this summer. LOVED this one! Matt & Liz chose Scottlyn Yards in Blair as the venue for both their ceremony and reception. It turned out so beautifully! And now I really, really want a VW bus. All pics by the wonderful Caleb and Megan at Willow Noavi Photography.

A variety of vintage containers from Nostalgia served as wine chillers on the reception tables

A Busy Summer & Sara and Scott's Wedding

The past couple of months have been a blur! We're all moved into the new showroom/office and have been super busy... there's been a wedding or event pretty much every week since the beginning of June. I've been pretty good about keeping Facebook updated (if you haven't already, go "like" Nostalgia Rentals here), but I have REALLY neglected the blog. I plan to play catch up and post some pictures of this summer's events over the next couple of weeks.

Let's start with Sara and Scott's backyard wedding in Omaha in early June. Candace from Lovestru.ck styled the event, and it was a perfect fit for the couple... laid back and intimate with a little bit of a French bistro feel. She used a lot of Nostalgia's items  -- two full pickup loads!.  Take a peek (fabulous photos by The Mullers).
Nostalgia's mason jars as drinking glasses

Tea cart, typewriter stand, and drink dispensers

Industrial double sink, perfect for serving bottled drinks

Happy couple!

Vintage tables and chairs

Seating area with white sofa, side table, and green upholstered chair

Vintage silver pieces used as planters for herbs

Vintage tiered table and primitive church pew

I had a great time working on this one -- the bride and groom are such a lovely couple! I will be posting pics from other events soon. My schedule is starting to really fill up, so if you're interested in using my items for your upcoming event, give me a call soon so I can get you on the books!

BIG News!!!

Big news.... Nostalgia Rentals is going to be moving to a new showroom (a showroom that's not my house)!  Just signed a lease this week for a shop at 4220 S 33rd Street, Suite C (Lincoln, Nebraska).

Not quite sure when we will be ready to open yet, but probably early June.  I'm also very excited to be sharing the space with two very talented ladies -- Candace Kalasky of Lovestru.ck Social Events and Megan Pomeroy of Megan Christine Photography.  It's going to be fun, girls!

I've been pinning constantly, thinking about the space.  I will have several vignettes showcasing my items in different wedding themes.  There will be space in the back for crafting -- I know my husband is excited that I will have a place to work on brooch bouquets besides our dining room table.  Hopefully, it will all turn out looking something like this:

beccabluepicked.blogspot.com

I will post more details later.  Hope I will see you all at the opening!  Back to planning I go!

A Bridal Fair Unlike Any Other

Time for the big reveal! Mark your calendars -- Nostalgia Rentals is going to be a part of The Lovestruck Event on September 30 in Omaha. The Lovestruck Event is going to be a bridal fair unlike any other... you won't be herded through a maze of vendors sitting behind folding tables draped with polyester tablecloths. You will be able to interact with vendors who want to collaborate with you to make your wedding creative, modern, and memorable. Much more information is available on the Lovestruck Event's website, which went live this morning. So make sure you take a look at the site, and in the meantime, take a peek at these great pics from the photo shoot for the event (Nostalgia props playing a supporting role):

Lovestruck.

I can't say too much at the moment, but I am super excited about an upcoming event that Megan Hunt (Princess Lasertron), Lesley Peterson (Inclosed Studio), and Candace Kalasky (Lovestruck Social Events) have been putting together. I will have more info for you next Monday, but in the meantime, check out this video (and keep your eyes peeled for Nostalgia items... there are a few in there!).

Around the House Today...

Just finished showing some items to a lovely bride planning a rustic winter wedding. Before I put them all away I thought I would snap some photos.

Better get back to work!

Winter Inspiration from WellWed & Another Auction Find

Awhile back I happened upon WellWed Magazine's website and now I check it regularly for inspiration. I really, really loved one inspiration shoot from their Fall/Winter 2011 issue (Hamptons edition), so I purchased that issue. Here are a few pics:

Fabulous, right? Even though everything is white or neutral, these pictures still exude warmth and coziness. This would be a GREAT look for a winter wedding. Nostalgia Rentals has all of the ingredients you would need to recreate this look for your wedding or special event... Crocheted snowflakes? Check. Umbrella frame? Check. Doilies? Check. Mason and apothecary jars? Check. Lamp shade frame? Check. I even have a mink hat that I would be happy to gussy up with a fabric flower and veil for you.

That last picture gave me a great idea for using one of my latest auction finds. A week ago, I got a great deal on 20 of these vintage feed sacks:

I am planning on making chair covers like the ones in the picture with the sacks. I think I should probably be able to sew about 50 or 60 out of the amount of fabric I have. We'll see. I hope to get at least a few done in the next month so I can give them a trial run at the China Luncheon in Hubbell on March 24 (buy some tickets and come sit at my table!). Which means I should probably be starting on these soon since I am not a speedy seamstress.

If you're ready to start planning your winter 2012 wedding, give me a call!

Ready for Their Close Up, Mr. DeMille

I picked these beauties up at an auction a couple of weeks ago. They are just back from the cleaner's. I dressed them up a little with some brooches from my vintage jewelry collection. (If you're interested in a brooch bouquet, I have many brooches like these in my stash -- in pretty much whatever color you would like.)

They are available for rent. In a couple of weeks, they will be displaying vintage wedding dresses at a bridal shower (which I think is a great idea). In the meantime, they will be dressing up my workroom.

Check out the green shutters behind them -- also a new find.

Shutters are great for all sorts of purposes...

Food for thought. I better get started on my project of the day -- organizing new inventory!

Nebraska Wedding Day Launch Party

It feels a lot like spring today -- almost 60 degrees! I'm sure there is more winter waiting around the corner, but for right now at least the days of snow and ice seem far away. Spring temperatures reminded me, ironically, that I hadn't posted about the Nebraska Wedding Day 2012 launch party yet. The woodsy, winter theme was devised by Candace of Lovestru.ck Social Events. It was perfect for a January evening.

Nostalgia Rentals provided many of the decor items for the event. Check it out (all images Brighten Photography):
My favorite detail of the night was probably the floral arrangement by Beyond the Vine that hung over Nostalgia's fireplace -- on Nostalgia's antlers!

Mini pies from Bliss Bakery were stacked on top of Nostalgia crates -- this is a great idea for a buffet. Those cupcakes were so yummy!

Nothing from Nostalgia in this shot -- I just loved the welcome wreath and wanted to show it to you!

Most of the props for the photo booth -- sleds, thermoses, jackets, hats, scarfs, ice skates, etc. -- were from our inventory. So much fun!

Well, I want to get outside and enjoy some of this beautiful weather. Hope all of you are able to do the same!
