Meet the Hilfigers (or Tenenbaums) Wedding

I remember when Tommy Hilfiger came out with this ad campaign last fall. I thought the styling was brilliant. What a great look!

I also remember reading that the ads were influenced by Wes Anderson's movie The Royal Tenenbaums, which incidentally I also love.

I've been thinking about how great it would be to create a similar theme for a winter wedding...

At Nostalgia Rentals, we have many items that would help you achieve this look at your event -- including antlers! Give us a call to set up a (free) consultation!

P.S. I put together another Etsy Treasury with this theme here.

Ready for a Cuteness Overload?

First of all, sorry for all the weird clothing posts. I unlinked my Polyvore account and this blog so those posts should stop. I can't figure out how to only publish to my blog from Polyvore when I want -- EVERYTHING I do on Polyvore was showing up here.

Moving on... just got this image from Laura Matoush, who is an amazing children/family photographer (she's photographed my daughter several times). She rented one of our antique doll buggies this past weekend for a newborn shoot. The result is soooo precious:

Just a reminder that we have lots of photo props available, including many for baby/kid shoots:

Doll Bed -- working on getting
some different bedding.

Primitive Child-Size Rocking Chair

Primitive Wagon

Wicker Baby Scale

Antique Kitchen Scales -- Recently someone borrowed these for a newborn shoot -- apparently a newborn baby WILL fit on them if he/she is scrunched up a little.

There's lots more, including suitcases, wooden crates, baskets, vintage vanity items (for "dress up" shoots), old school desks, etc. Take a look at the flickr gallery for more ideas (link at right of page).

New, One-of-a-Kind Rental Pieces

I have some pics to share of some new rentals pieces that we have available, and they are sooooo fun. You'll have to use your imagination a bit -- I was in a hurry and didn't get the items out of storage, so they're a bit dusty and not arranged correctly. Hopefully you'll get the idea, though. Basically, we have the entire contents of an old post office...

Awesome set of old post office boxes.

Split door with envelope and packages mailing slots. (Assembled it would look something like the one below).

There's also some other pieces like a desk and some sorting cabinets that I didn't get pictures of. These items would be soooo fun -- I'm excited! In a picture I found online, someone had put a cupcake in each mail cubby at a wedding:

Or some letters spelling "just married"...

It would be cute to use some other mail-themed items in conjunction with the post office stuff. These are really genius RSVP cards -- vintage postcards stamped with the RSVP info.

Another use for old postcards -- give them out at the reception to guests then collect them and send the well wishes to the bride and groom.

"Air mail" wedding programs...

The post office items would be cute at a travel-themed wedding...

Or with pretty much any other vintage decor... Here are a couple of my favorite pics I found in the last week:

Give us a call -- we can't wait to brainstorm ideas for using these pieces at your event with you!

Parisian Patisseries & Sweet Shops

I am soooo excited about a wedding that event planner Candace Kalasky of Lovestru.ck Social Event Planning is putting together. (She's got killer style and great ideas -- check out her blog.) She is going to be using a store display cabinet from Nostalgia to create a patisserie style dessert station. I have seen a few of these pop up in wedding blogs and they are such a neat idea.
Source Unknown

Below is one of our store display cabinets. It is 72" wide, 27" deep, and 46" tall. We have another one that is the same size and we just picked up a 5' cabinet at auction this past weekend. Wouldn't this look great with a little canopy above it like in the pictures above? We'd be happy to help you create one of those for your wedding -- I would classify my sewing skills as "developing," but my mother-in-law, who is also my Nostalgia business partner, is a very skilled (and former professional) seamstress.

I was poking around etsy this weekend looking for patisserie props and put together this treasury. We have a lot of similar items in our inventory -- cake plates, tiered candy trays, apothecary jars, you name it. We'd love to help you create this look for your wedding! So fun!

Christmas Theme Wedding Etsy Treasury

I've been thinking about my brother-in-law and new sister-in-law's wedding reception next month. Etsy is always a great source of inspiration. Thinking of their reception, I put this little treasury together:

I love winter weddings!

Pretty Flowers and Mismatched Chairs

I came home from some errand running this afternoon to find this lovely arrangement on my porch:

Melissa and Sherri from Blooms & Bouquets had borrowed some mismatched dining chairs and dinnerware for a Nebraska Wedding Day photo shoot. These flowers were such a nice thank you! (I think cabbage roses are my new favorite flower.)

I love the look of mismatched dining chairs for a reception, wedding ceremony, or party. Here are just a few in our inventory (many more where they came from). I am willing to repaint a few of the painted chairs to match your color scheme:

At a wedding, they would look something like this:

Looks great, right? Well, give me a call if you'd like to replicate this look for your event!

Advertising Photo Shoot with Willow Noavi Photography

I am super excited about these images from the recent photo shoot I did with Caleb and Megan from Willow Noavi Photography for some Nostalgia advertising. They are amazingly talented! And our models, Lexi and Spencer, were just awesome. Many, many thanks to you all!

I wanted to give customers an idea of what pieces from Nostalgia might look like at a wedding, so we staged a little faux wedding reception at James Arthur Vineyards (in Raymond, Nebraska). Take a look!
